How to say 'I don't know' in Korean?

몰라 = 반말
몰라요 = 존댓말(반말+a, ex. When a higher person wants to say polite to a lower one. or b similar level.)
모르겠어요. 모르겠습니다. = 존댓말(to higher)

So, If you wanna say 'I don't know' in a proper way is '모르겠어요'. But '모르겠습니다' is kind of too formal in this context.

ref. 몰라서요 = Because I don't know.

- What is 반말?
If there is no '요' or '다' you can think it is 반말. 반말 is normally used between 'close friends' or 'lower people(position+age)'
