Why 안녕하세요, 잘 지내요? or 잘 지냈어요? is wrong?

Many foreigners think 잘 지내요? = 잘 지내세요? = How are you?
But it's not. In Korean, We don't have 'How are you?'
안녕하세요? real means Are you being well? which is similar to 'How are you?'
But it's more like 'Hello'.

You can use 잘 지내요? or 잘 지내세요? when it's been more than a month normally..

It's like How have you been?

People normally use 잘 지내요? or 잘 지내세요? when it's more than a month. You can use it like after a week, but it's a bit weird

You can't use it to your classmates or coworkers because you guys meet almost every day and might talk almost every day.
So you can't use it. :) 안녕하세요 is enough.
in English. You can say.  Hi, How are you? every day. and more than twice in a day. But in Korean. just 안녕하세요 is enough.

ref) you may think... 밥 먹었어요? could be a greeting.
But it's not. it really means have you eaten. it's not greeting. but question..
so you have to answer yes or no. If he is much older than you. He might be willing to treat you. Or if he is your friend he might say 'Let's grab a bite then.'

In Korean, 안녕하세요? is enough. And you can say what you want to say.
I think girls give compliments a lot like 'Oh! you look prettier.', 'I like your hair color, have you dyed recently?' etc.
But for boys. nothing.
